KALI KOPLEY
Kali started working in restaurants at age 14 and was managing a pizza joint in Central Massachusetts by age 16. In her twenties she discovered North Lake Tahoe, where she founded three wine bars and two restaurants, and made a name for herself as an entrepreneur. As a customer of the Henry Wine Group, Kali met Will. Cue the surf trips, wine dinners, wedding bells, and Lumen Wines. Together Kali and Will opened Pico, a place to call home. When asked, Kali tells people she is the janitor at Pico. She also happens to be the Executive Chef, working directly with her favorite local farmers and ranchers. Under her direction the Pico menu boasts a menu sourced within our community boundaries. She cooks like her Greek family taught her, letting the products speak for themselves.
WILL HENRY
Wine is in Will’s blood. When faced with getting a job after graduating from college, he asked his father, an icon in the wine industry, if he could get him a job in Australia working for a winery. “Get your own damn job,” replied his father. What followed was a long, winding career through many sides of the wine business, until he founded Lumen in 2012. In 2013, while peddling his wines in North Lake Tahoe, he met Kali, and the rest is Pico history. Will continues to make the wines for Lumen, and also to farm their organic vineyards. He can be seen at Pico during the day doing hard labor, or working on their extensive wine list.
WINSLOW
Winslow was born in January of 2016, just one month before her parents opened Pico. Within three short months, she worked her way to the top, and now runs the entire restaurant. She can often be seen working the floor, but prefers to spend much of her time in the backyard making mud pies.
